Join the Arlington Public Library for a special author visit with best-seller children's author and illustrator, Jerry Craft. The event will include a presentation from the author, a brief drawing session showcasing how his characters came to life, Q&A, and a book signing. This event is free and open to the public, and the first 50 kids will receive a free copy of New Kid for the author to sign. 

JERRY CRAFT is the New York Times bestselling author and illustrator of the graphic novels New Kid and Class Act.  New Kid is the only book in history to win the John Newbery Medal for the most outstanding contribution to children’s literature (2020); the Kirkus Prize for Young Readers’ Literature (2019), and the Coretta Scott King Author Award for the most outstanding work by an African American writer (2020). Jerry was born in Harlem and grew up in the Washington Heights section of New York City.

The event will take place in the City Council Chambers across the plaza from the George W. Hawkes Downtown Library, located at 100 S. Center Street, Arlington, Texas 76010.
