online as
Arlington's Museum of Art's first ever Artist-in Residence Amy J. Schultz as she tells the story of her ground-breaking 2019
MUMENTOUS multimedia installation.
Amy will relate some of what she learned about the uniquely Texan tradition of larger-than-life homecoming mums and what happens when another Texan institution, Whataburger, decides to donate an
18-foot-tall mum to join the fun!
She will also be talking about the history of this
tradition as it intertwines with other values within Texas culture: football,
community/state pride, the power of small business, the strength of Texas
women, and the value placed on coming of age celebrations.
This event will be held virtually using the Zoom video and audio conferencing platform and registration is required. Your registration confirmation email will include the Zoom access information.
