Creating Safer Communities: Awareness & Prevention of Sexual & Domestic Violence

Event Details

Representatives from multiple organizations will present a small overview (10-15 minutes) of their programs/organizations and specialized topics in panel form.

Attendees will have the option to choose from several 30 minute workshops.
Topics to be discussed:

  • The Justice System & Legal Resources
  • Introduction to Trauma (an overview on the brain's response to trauma)
  • The Role of Friends and Family
  • Coping Skills & Strategies
  • Creating Safer Campus & Work Environments
The program will end with a brief talk of practical implementation of all the skills discussed, an overview of resources available in the area, and a short Q&A with panelists.
