Incorporating Modalities into Literature with guest author Jonnie Martin
Energize your creative writing with multiple modalities – scene, poetry, sound, movement, dialogue.  Using as our guide, excerpts from Michael Ondaatje’s vibrant story of New Orleans jazz in Coming Through Slaughter, we will explore and practice a variety of writing styles.  Ondaatje is best known for The English Patient, which won the Booker Prize.  He writes thought-provoking, lyrical novels about outsiders, which makes his books rich for analysis and study. No preparation necessary – bring paper and pen and creative curiosity.
